October 2019

October 6--Peer Plus provided navigator services for CISCRP at the Chicago Women's Expo to help increase the public's awareness of clinical studies and to encourage greater minority participation in research trials.
October 13--Peer Plus hosted its 3rd annual Paint the Church Pink event to highlight Breast Cancer Awareness month and to encourage healthy habits and outcomes. The event featured free health screenings, refreshments and 20+ informational vendors with exhibits.



October 19--Peer Plus volunteer Janice Gilmore (left) supported Tracy Kincaide, breast cancer survivor, vocalist, songwriter and co-author of "When Warriors Talk, God Listens," at her book signing.
October 19th--Peer Plus volunteers and supporters (L to R) Denice Swift, Peggy Riggins, Debra Swift and Dr. Tonya Payton-Coleman were on hand to honor "Women Pharmacist Influencers" at a special recognition brunch held in Chicago.


October 31--Peer Plus Founder Phyllis Rodgers joined Othel Owen (AARP Foundation Experience Corps) to discuss partnership and community engagement during an interview on CAN-TV.
